IFOAM INDIA ORGANIC SERVICE CENTRE (IOSC) Workplan 2006
Background
ICCOA and IOSC joined IFOAM efforts in implementing IGO project in 2005. During the later part of the year it implemented three activities, largely relating to advocacy of organic agriculture among Indian stakeholders and enhancing their knowledge about organic agriculture principles, IFOAM positions on various issues and about issues like GMOs, climate change and organic agriculture opportunities and challenges. The report of IGO-2005 has been already submitted to project coordinator in the IFOAM-HQ.
ICCOA/ IOSC proposal for IGO project activities in 2006
The broad framework of 2006 work plan was discussed with coordinator of I-GO project and IOSC in charge at IFOAM. The details on each activities and activity wise budgeting is presented here in the proposal.

Activity-3: Activities for gathering Inputs to IFOAM- ICS Manual

Contribute to developing ICS manual, by way of gathering information from around India on the experiences of using ICS. The activity comprises of identifying possible institutions / agencies who are using ICS, asking them to document their experience and invite them to a workshop to share their experiences. In the workshop, participants will further deliberate on their experiences and prepare a report on the ICS state of affairs in India.

About 10 participants will be invited to share ICS experiences, Participants will be requested to give a written presentation of their experiences. They will be invited to participate in the three day workshop to be organized by one of the partner institutions.

Morarka Foundation , an IFOAM member, based in Jaipur, Rajsthan. has agreed to collaborate with ICCOA/IOSC to organize this meeting on ICS in Jaipur or Delhi. The venue will be selected keeping in view weather conditions. We are also considering to hold the meeting in one of the areas where ICS is in operation.
